The Department: Platform Our Platform Organization’s purpose is to enable Gemini to scale effectively and empower our engineering teams to focus on building innovative financial products and experiences for individuals around the world. Platform focuses around building a scalable and secure foundations platform, enabling Engineering to deploy, validate, and operate their services in production, improve resiliency of the service and increase organizational efficiency by reducing operational toil and increase system efficiency through architectural evolution. The Role: Senior Blockchain Platform Engineer, SRE The Blockchain Platform forms the connecting tissue with other product engineering teams. The team focuses on leveraging Gemini’s platform solutions to build a scalable, highly available blockchain platform. Our goal is to ease and streamline the onboarding of new chains and coins, support Gemini’s earn and staking capabilities, and provide leverage by allowing for our blockchain infrastructure to be used consistently across novel products (e.g. Nifty Gateway). You will learn about different applications of blockchains and will collaborate and partner closely with the Open Source community. Responsibilities: Solving real business needs at large scale by applying your software engineering and analytical problem solving skills; Architecting and building a robust, scalable, and highly available distributed infrastructure; Leading cross-functional initiatives and collaborating with engineers, product managers, and TPM across teams; Learning fast is an exciting area and being one of the first engineers of a high growth team. Architect, build and support a new platform to onboard blockchains, staking services and other distributed systems on Gemini’s platform; Collaborate with multi-functional teams of engineering partners in product engineering (such as the Wallet engineering team), infrastructure teams, security/compliance any many others; Integrate the new Platform with the rest of the Gemini’s infrastructure. Qualifications: 5 years using monitoring, alerting, and automation tooling to understand and remediate performance and health issues in blockchain ecosystems Cloud technologies and providers like AWS, GCP, or Azure; Experience with modern CI/CD concepts and implementations; Containerization and Container orchestration with Docker and Kubernetes; Experience in a code-first environment, developing automated solutions to solve support and operational issues Experience working with containerization such as Docker, Configuration Management such as Ansible, Chef, Puppet.
