As an Automation Specialist, you work under the Automation Center of Excellence Lead to support, document, design, build and support RPA solutions with the primary goal of driving penetration and adoption of RPA solutions that automate business processes throughout the company.

Key Responsibilities

Document, design and build solutions

  • Understand and document process flows within various business areas and processes
  • Analyze business requirements, design implementable technical solutions that leverage process automation technologies and development automation solutions to exceed expectations
  • Embrace agile development approach for development by delivering minimal viable automation (MVA)


  • Basic understanding on how to read and understand code (code-competency) for diagnosis and escalation to L4 support as needed
  • Provide troubleshooting and support (L2 & L3) for existing automation solutions to end users
  • Provide ongoing operational RPA and automation support (upgrades, bug/defect fixes, process change, performance tuning activities)
  • Act as liaison between automation end users/process owners and IT support team

Support 3rd party implementor

  • Own User access process, including lead times & request process
  • Perform initial review of all documentation
  • Escalation of all roadblocks to management
  • Coordinating with implementor to identify, track and resolve technical issues and risks affecting implementation ability and timeline
  • Assist with UAT process including coordinating technical aspects, such as test system and data availability

Build the RPA brand at Navistar

  • Develop, promote and own a curriculum of workshops and trainings, both online and in person
  • Contribute to the development of Navistar’s technical acumen around RPA
  • Facilitate discussions with various groups within Navistar to educate on benefits of RPA and reduce uncertainties with RPA

Opportunity identification, evaluation and business case development

  • Assist with opportunity intake process, including monitoring for new opportunities and enhancements to system
  • Assist with performing opportunity evaluations, which includes criteria for complexity, suitability and value/benefit
  • Assist with developing business cases for future automations including total cost of ownership (TCO) and metrics for measuring value and success of the automation

Other tasks as needed based on business need

  • Lead structured peer reviews

Position Purpose

Responsible for the development, implementation, updating and maintaining financial systems including exporting and importing of files into databases and is involved in the collection, retrieval, accessibility and usage of financial information for planning and related activities. Modifies menus and spreadsheets for analysis and troubleshooting. Provides training to staff on financial systems' databases and software. Maintains internal database files and tables and develops custom reports to meet the requirements of Finance management and staff. Works with Finance personnel to evaluate financial systems software and hardware needs and may design new or modify existing financial systems to meet changing needs. May serve as the finance department liaison to IT function.

Basic Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • At least 1 year of financial systems experience


  • Master’s degree 


  • At least 3 years of financial systems experience

  • Qualified candidates, excluding current Navistar employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. Desired Skills

  • Relevant Experience
    • Agile software development experience
    • Ideal candidate will have experience with RPA and/or other emerging technologies such as Machine Learning (ML), Artificial Intelligence (AI), Blockchain, Optical/Intelligent Character Recognition (OCR/ICR), etc.
    • Experience analyzing web source code (JavaScript, HTML, Ajax, authentication, ASP, PHP, CSS, etc.) is preferred
    • Understanding of API functionality (i.e. REST and SOAP webservices)
    • Understanding of various data files like JSON, CSV, XML, XSD and XSLT
    • Experience in designing and developing data integration and improved workflow solutions preferred
    • Strong SQL skills, with an ability to write well-tuned SQL queries, in addition to complex stored procedures
    • Expert level in Microsoft Office, particularly in Excel (advanced knowledge of VBA/macros a plus)
    • 1-2 year(s) of relevant RPA development experience using UiPath, Automation Anywhere, Blue Prism or other RPA software platform
    • 1-2 year(s) of experience in programming (VB.NET, JSON, C#, etc.)
    • 1-2 year(s) of experience with SharePoint workflow development
