The Workplace Investing (WI) Platform technology group is seeking a highly motivated and curious full-stack Engineer who is passionate about the application of Emerging Technologies in Financial Services! Come join the collaborative team of Engineers tasked to develop and maintain technology solutions supporting Fidelity's Next Generation Retirement business. While today’s platform serves plan sponsors in the configuration of their DC plans and operates in a mixed-technology environment (Java, Spring, Angular, Oracle) across multiple tiers (web server, app server, DB), our team will expand upon these capabilities to include blockchain and digital assets.

The Role

As a Lead Blockchain Engineer you will be part of the Workplace Investing team with a focus on bringing blockchain use cases into production for the enterprise. As a senior member of the team, you will be hands on and mentor engineers on the best practices for smart contract development.

The Expertise and Skills You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science preferred
  • Hands on 5+ years of Programming experience in Java or related technologies
  • Experience in JavaScript based frameworks and client-side technologies.
  • Designing, implementing, and supporting distributed blockchain-based enterprise solutions
  • Building and launching a blockchain network
  • Experience working in a fast-paced agile environment.
  • Experience working on the full development lifecycle of a project.
  • Experience in working with diverse blockchain/distributed ledger implementations like Corda, Hyperledger Fabric, Ethereum.
  • Proficiency in two or more of the smart contract languages, Solidity, Go or RUST
  • Familiarity with bitcoin and Ethereum and current developments in payments and DeFI space
  • Familiarity with basics of cryptography and cryptographic algorithms
  • Working experience with opensource blockchain communities is an advantage.
  • Willingness to constantly re-iterate design and code for the best solutions
  • Excellent writing and communication skills

The Next Generation Retirement Product Area is looking for a Lead Blockchain Engineer located in Durham, North Carolina site to be part of its multifaceted, globally distributed team of IT professionals responsible for the development and maintenance of Fidelity's Workplace Platform . Our Next Gen Retirement team shares a mission of cultivating new offerings that captivate the next generation and secure market leadership in DC Recordkeeping.
