Our client is currently seeking a VP of Software Solutions (RFID/IoT)
This job will have the following responsibilities:
- Our client is looking for a strong VP of Software to lead a global software team that is building commercial IoT software solutions.
- Reporting directly to the CTO, the ideal candidate is one who has led the development and deployment of commercial software at scale in the cloud.
- The VP will need to build and lead a team of about 30 developers, architects, BAs, QA and DevOps staff in Columbus.
- Client is a global leader in manufacturing RFID transponders on three continents and has a reputation as an innovative global company.

Qualifications & Requirements:
oSoftware delivery teams
oSoftware development process, milestone driven, practically agile
oSoftware delivery process including design, development, ops, and support
oInterfaces with other stakeholders e.g. product management, pre-sales, sales, finance, etc.
- Experience in
oSoftware development in major cloud stack for global, scalable applications
oSoftware architectural patterns for development and deployment
oDeployment of software on elastic cloud
oOpen source technologies for cloud applications
oData at scale management and applications, diverse data
oIntegration; APIs, platform, enterprise applications, current trends
oPatterns, practices for software development and architecture
oStandards, compliance, security, and other elements for commercial applications
oEmerging software trends, standards, and tools and leverage appropriately
oSetting guidelines and processes for software development teams
oManaging software IP, cost, license, implications
oManaging development infrastructure e.g. code repositories, dev/deploy tools, …
oAll aspects of software delivery including design, development, ops, support
oWorking with geographically dispersed teams
oWorking with development partners
oManaging and delivering to a release plan

Education & Experience
•Bachelor’s in computer science, engineering, or software-related discipline; Advanced degrees are preferred.
•Certifications in software development, particularly Cloud based development is strongly preferred.
•10+ years in software development, with at least 5+ years of management responsibility.
•Current software-related certifications are a plus
•Prior work experience in a private-equity owned, or startup/new growth company is desirable
